Phoenix Area Sites:
McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park: Scottsdale, AZ: A well maintained park area with a railroad theme. Attractions include: Full size engine and cars, museum, historic buildings, carousel, large building with model railroad display, and operating miniature train ride. Also lots of picnic and playground facilities. Admission to the park is free but there is a charge for certain attractions.
Cosanti: Paradise Valley, AZ: The residence and studio of Paolo Soleri, who died in 2013. This location has interesting architecture and work areas for producing bronze and ceramic crafts which are sold online and in a gallery here. There is no admission charge and visitors are welcome to walk around and photograph -- except in designated areas.
Scottsdale Downtown Sightseeing: Scottsdale is a very interesting town to walk around and do some sightseeing. There is free 3 hour parking and a free trolley that continuously circles through the town. It has a distinct Western character and there are plenty of shops, artwork, civic, and cultural attractions to make for a pleasant outing.
